Cooperative Safety Program
The Cooperative Safety Program (CSP) is a partnership of 12 utilities, municipalities and organizations that share a commitment to public and workplace safety across the southern interior of B.C. The goal of this program is to improve public awareness of electrical awareness of electrical and natural gas hazards — and how those hazards can be avoided.
Spearheaded by FortisBC since 2005, the annual electrical and natural gas safety awareness campaign focuses on four key messages for both the public and industry professionals – ‘Look Up and Live,’ ‘A Downed Power Line is Deadly,’ ‘Smell Gas Act Fast’ and ‘Call Before You Dig’.
The CSP’s Safety Zone messaging will run on local radio stations and in local print publications across the southern interior starting in July through to October.
